Project Lead : Spey Fisheries Board (SFB)
What is the project?
SFB is working to ease fish passage on three tributaries on the River Avon, where artificial barriers are currently preventing fish from accessing spawning habitat.
What will the project achieve?
Up to three fish barriers will be modified to allow fish to pass in a range of flow conditions.
Approx. 10km of watercourse will be made available for spawning and juvenile fish helping to safeguard future populations of Atlantic salmon.
What has been done so far?
Consultants have been employed to undertake survey and fish pass design works.
Fish barrier easement physical work is programmed for autumn 2018.
